Dear Professor ...

	I have known Wolfgang Bibel for a number of years.  I have
been impressed with the variety of topics he works on and with his
independence of mind.  I can't give a more precise evaluation of his
work, because I find much of it technically rather difficult
compared to the level of my interest in the topic.

	However, I would consider him an excellent bet for a position
below the tenure level.  At that level I wouldn't be sure.
